We need everyone for the Global Climate Strike on Friday

On Friday 20th September it is the GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE and Bega, Bermagui, Moruya and Eden are joining 100 other towns in Australia and with millions of people all over the world to demand climate action. In Bega we are planning an 11am march from North Bega roundabout along the footpath to meet the rally at Littleton Gardens at 12pm.
The Australian students have three demands for governments.
1. No new coal, oil and gas projects, including the Adani mine.
2. 100% renewable energy generation and exports by 2030.
3. Fund a just transition and job creation for all fossil-fuel workers and communities.
This needs to be HUGE so that governments and corporations see they need to change.
To make the Climate strike huge we NEED YOUR HELP!
1. Please share the events on social media daily and by email to your friends (links in Weekly actions)
2. Make signs to advertise the event and for the day and display them
3. Consider chalking details about the Climate Strike on the streets near you.
4.Talk to everyone you meet about the climate emergency and attending the Global Climate Strike.
5. Change your social media profile pic
6. Put details of local Climate Strikes in comments on articles.

1. 2. March to the Global Climate Strike from the roundabout in North Bega. Meet at 11am 20th September. It is a 2km walk across the bridge footpath and into town. Meet up at Kisses lagoon at 11.30am.
3. Make your signs for the Climate strike at 47 East St, Bega on Thursday 19th September at 3.30pm
4. Share the details of the local Climate Strikes at Eden, Moruya, Bermagui and Bega on your social media daily
5. Change your profile pic on your social media to advertise the Climate strike
6. Chalk the details of the Climate Strike on the streets around your area
7. In comments on articles on the Climate Strike or climate emergency post the details of local Climate Strikes
8. Look out for the new CAM public Facebook page and Extinction Rebellion Bega Valley https://www.facebook.com/XRbegavalley/ and "like" them. Invite friends to "like" them.
9. Remind friends with children to write them permission notes to leave school on Friday 20th September.
10. Tree Propagating Day on Sunday 22nd September 9:30am to Chris Post's place at 129 Upper Brogo Rd. Bring a chair and food to share.

Over 1000 businesses, 30 unions, the Uniting Church of Australia, the Anglican Church of Australia, the ACT Education Department and ACT government have all endorsed the Global Climate Strike
