> Hi everybody I hope you are all coping with our strange and scary current existence.
> I really really miss my clinic being a functioning space, and being able to make a difference to peoples life, injuries and state of being.
> So I thought this might help for some.
> We are likely to be going through a range of emotions for some time to come, especially coupled with the fires of new years we have had a double whammy some a lot more severe than others, so i thought I would share some points that may be beneficial to some of you out there.
> For those that don't know I have 14 years experience as a diploma qualified practitioner of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies, which is a whole health system of body work from Japan. Shiatsu's roots are in accumulated knowledge of thousands of years of Traditional Oriental Medical knowledge which is blended with western anatomy and physiology.
> I will try and elaborate at a later date some specifics as to how to stimulate/sedate/harmonies and nourish these points, but for now simply think of sinking in with pressure rather than pushing, try to come from your center (or Hara) and for now apply pressure on the out breath and back off a little on the in breath, conscious breath work forms a basis in applying Shiatsu pressure, and feel free to explore moving the limbs/joints a little whilst applying the points, your intuition will tell you whats right some will be a strong sensation others a feel good nurture. You will find the photo for the point in attachments let me know if there is any trouble I'm not so good at this tech stuff im better hand on.
> Some points are contraindicated for pregnancy give me a email for advice.

> ANXIETY/ PANIC
> PERICARDIUM 6- Really good for Nausea, mania, anxiety, panic attacks. (This is actually my earliest memory of a tsubo (acu) point, we were shown by a nurse to hold this on my mother who was severely immobilized and bedridden from M.S., obviously being so confined and restricted brought on bouts of mania and panic etc i remember as a primary school age child how much this point calmed her down.) Thinking of my poor mum helps me a lot whenever i feel restricted and confined. Its also a point I used along with the next point when i severed a artery in my foot and came about as close as you can to bleeding to death, these two points were crucial for me controlling myself from panic and shock. A light connection of pressure is usualy all that is required.
>
> REN 12- This point can be very effective at panic attacks when held reasonably firmly it kind of makes you take a deep breath, usually with Anxiety and Panic attacks we somewhat hyperventilate, focusing on nice deep breaths often dissipates the extremity of this emotion. Resting lying down with your arms bent above your head also calms the SHEN, heart energy great for panic and insomnia.
>
> ANGER
> LIVER 3- This point can be very effective at regulating the movement of chi and blood throughout the body and mind, as well as drawing energy away from your head to your feet, i often finish a treatment balancing these points and have had mainstream tradies have a experience of amazement and deep connection. When you hold both these points together (the location can vary as in the photo) you will feel a subtle pulse, alternating the pressure between the two you will eventually feel that pulse join in unison. Some active exercise and or hitting screaming into a pillow (Sorry Pillows) can also release some of this Liver Chi.
> DEPRESSION/GRIEF/SADNESS
> LUNG 3- Hold your arm by your side and work one point at a time, combining light micro massage with light holding pressure, this can allow some tears to flow do a little at a time if this is the case to allow yourself time to process these feelings.
> PENSIVENESS
> SPLEEN 3
> In Oriental medicine it is the spleen and stomach (aka earth element) that does a lot of the processing and transformation when students have exams often the digestion becomes weak because of the mental digestion is the same energy and this meridian becomes weak. This meridian is prone to cycling the same thing again and again and again like a record on repeat, have some well cooked simple ingredient meals and try holding this point and allow the space to expand between those thoughts.
>
> The above advice is intended with living with the emotional roller coaster of Covid !9 restrictions and isolation and not advice if you come down with the virus i don't know enough about that to comment, please follow current medical advice (ie not from Trump or facebook)
> also if you feel overwhelmed with your emotional state please contact a mental health professional.
> Any further advice about the points please email/txt me
> I Am not on facebook but if anyone would like to share this on there or anywhere feel free.
