Hello,
One of our members identified a SPAM message that came into their Inbox
last Monday 13th. It appeared to come from the community network.
Here are a few points:
*1. No-one can send to the network unless they are a member* OR if the
moderator let's the message through as a one-off (eg for a special concert).
*2. Last Monday there was a message from a member* of the community that
had asked to post and I let them send. It's possible (but unlikely) I may
also have (accidentally) allowed that spam message through. I'm sorry (if I
did) it was my mistake.
*3. In 15 years of using the Mailman <https://www.list.org/> package *- I
have never seen spam get through. Not once. Any spam that tries to send is
filtered out. So if I did let spam through by mistake, it's a first!
*4. Please let me know if you get any odd messages* from the community
network. Diligence is free but very valuable!
Many thanks
Geoffrey
