[Bermagui Community] The Bears in There

Hello,

I recently asked for pics to send to the paper and the ABC about the kids
'Bear Hunt' suggested by Rev Timothy Narraway of the Anglican Parish
Cobargo and Bermagui. This is also on at Berridale I'm informed.

I was swamped with bear pics! And moved to tears...

Tim first posted this yesterday:

We interrupt your Coronavirus feed to bring you a beautiful initiative 🌈
“We're going on a bear hunt. We're going to catch a big one."
Residents around Bermagui, Cobargo and Quaama and further afield have been
urged to place teddy bears in their windows for local kids to spot. The
activity works for parents and kids to have a fun activity outside, while
still being able to keep physical distance.
It was inspired by the book 'Going On A Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen and
Helen Oxenbury.

I'd like to share (below) some of the images I was given. I had to reduce
the sizes so they'd fit in one email.

Some very moving stories that came with them too. Bears are the keepers of
our hearts, our childhood, our hopes.* Thank you for sharing.*

So perhaps you'd like to share a little hope in your community by placing a
bear in your window for kids to see if they go for a walk around town with
their parents.

We're such good people.
