*Hello Community Members and Friends,*

Here's an update on the Triangle Tool Library we recently sent to our
Members.

We'd like to thank the Cobargo Community for backing the Tool Library.
You've been fantastic.

====

We recently passed our One Year mark this June, which is possible because
of your Membership and continued support. *Thank you.*

We have over 150 members, a growing collection of useful tools, a solid
bank balance and we are well-situated behind the Cobargo Co-op.

There's some more good news below, so read on. *Happy Birthday folks! You
made this happen.*

We do post updates to *Facebook
<https://www.facebook.com/triangletoollibrary> *as well.

===================

Here's some good news...

*1. $134K Grant - Tools Desire Survey*

We were recently awarded $134,000 under the NSW Government's Bushfire
Community Recovery and Resilience Fund.
<https://www.nsw.gov.au/grants-and-funding/bushfire-community-recovery-and-resilience-fund>

The funding provides for 4 fully equipped 'Resilience' trailers. We get to
choose what gear goes in each trailer.

It can be anything; building, gardening, fencing, farming or even a kitchen
for catering and music events.

Our project manager Monica Considine is surveying library members and the
local community on what kind of equipment you are most likely to borrow.

*We need your thoughts please:*

*• Please drop in to the library, *

*• O**r complete the attached Tools Desire Survey and text a pic to* *Monica
on 0417228050*

*• Or using the Tools Desire Survey as a guide, Reply or E**mail
triangletoollibrary at gmail.com <triangletoollibrary at gmail.com> and tell us
what you'd like*

*2. Membership Renewals*

Over the next 12 months your tool library membership will be up for
renewal. We'll send you each a reminder and you can pay by bank transfer or
come in and pay cash.

Your membership keeps our doors open. It helps us cover running costs
including insurances, web services, maintenance, parts and new equipment. Our
staff are volunteers, of course.

*Please remember that you don't have to be fire affected to use the tool
library. Membership is open to everyone from the Triangle area, please
spread the word! *

*3. Clearing out a Tool Container*

The container of donated tools is becoming empty. The tools were donated by
Men's Sheds, the CWA Bowral, the Masonic Lodge, with container support from
Coates Hire, which needs to return soon.

So come down and have a look at the remainder. We still have hammers,
concreting tools, drills, routers, jigsaws, various screws and nails and
mops and brooms.

There are a heap of fixtures and fittings that may come in handy for a
rebuild. Bring a friend!

*We're Open on:*

   - Tuesday 9am-3pm
         - Friday 9am-12pm
         - Saturday 8am-11am

*4. Sponsors and Benefactors - More Help for the Tool Library*

The level of support we've had has been incredibly generous, and it
continues!

*IHG* <https://www.metcash.com/our-businesses/hardware/> (supplier to*
Cobargo Co-op <https://www.cobargocoop.com.au/>* and Mitre 10 stores
regionally) has continued their support for the Tool Library and we have
been given a good annual sum for equipment purchase through the Co-op, for
the next 3 years. IHG are the largest independent hardware group in
Australia. Their support has been impressive. They kicked off the main
container, full of tools. Thank you.

The *Cobargo Bushfire Recovery Fund <https://cobargorecoveryfund.com/> *had
our backs from the very beginning with their $20K grant of donated money
for Cobargo. That enabled us to operate and to buy gear and we still have a
good sum remaining. You can still donate to the Fund or make a bequest in
your will if you like. It's a worthy thing.

*Vinnies <https://www.vinnies.org.au/> *gave us $10k to buy the side
opening container. That gave us a *home*. *The Cobargo Co-op have allocated
$15K to upgrade the Oil Shed next to us*, which will be a training
workshop, when it's ready. So we are secure in our place behind the Co-op.
At the end of the first year, that's a really big hearted result.

*All Hands and Hearts* <https://www.allhandsandhearts.org/> are a volunteer
construction group who have come to Cobargo to help build hygiene services
for some people who are still without services. The Triangle Tool Library
have been talking with them since late 2020 and we're delighted those
discussions have borne fruit. The COVID situation means their construction
volunteer base is reduced but they press on. They are entirely funded by
two philanthropists in the USA, and they're spending their money locally.
Amazing.

*Individual donations* of gear continue to come in weekly and we add them
to the collection or share them. One person from Canberra came all this way
to offer some excellent Makita tools, *Sapphire Nu-pulse
<https://sapphirenupulse.com.au/>* gave us a new chainsaw, we were given a
vibrating plate machine by the Drogmi Buddhist Institute
<https://www.drogmi.org>, an individual donation by Steve and Monica
McSmith of a heavy duty engine hoist came in recently... so many kind gifts
to the community of Members. *Thank you.*

*5. Circular Economy - Cardboard and Pallets*

We're running a trial to bring in the resource stream from Bega Cheese -
specifically good quality wooden and plastic pallets and pressed bales of
cardboard. We have to charge for shipping costs, but it works out better
than hauling them yourself.

   - Cardboard is $20 for a 500kg compressed bale (no staples and no
plastic tape) and is loaded in Cobargo (utes and trailers only).
      - Pallets are $1 and .50c each, loaded in Cobargo.
      - *Please order from Geoffrey on 0428 244 811* or come in while we
      are open to collect.
      - You do not need to be a member to get these resources.
