Voter Advocacy Education Program
>From Rian Smith in Bega
================
I am a concerned resident of the Bega Valley volunteering with a grassroots
voter advocacy group.
We are not aligned with any political party though we are concerned
that our elected representatives do not represent our needs well and
instead run their own agendas at tax payer expense.
Voter education and how the political system works is largely lacking
in our schools, many adults do not understand how their vote works, feel
as if their vote doesn't count and know little about strategic use of
preferential voting.
It has served the two party duopoly well to have voters that don't
fully understand the system, ensuring the current members can retain
their jobs with wages of $260 000 approx (entry level wage for politicians).
* Making Political History* is offering free online education
explaining the political and voting system in Australia.
I would appreciate the opportunity to promote this people
powered (volunteer funded) education campaign to Bega Valley residents.
Please find the attachment below, advertising a non-party specific voters
education zoom course.
Kind Regards,
