Indigo Dyeing: Techniques and Process
With The Bega Valley Textile Group
5 February 2022
10am to 4pm Quaama School of Arts Hall
Free of charge, lunch provided
Learn to create beautiful patterned cloth using indigo and simple pattern techniques. Suitable for complete beginners.
Participants need to wear old clothes so they can get messy without worrying about it. If possible, bring rubber gloves; apron; metal BBQ tongs; containers to take wet cloth home
* Learn about indigo and its history and cultural use
* Be involved in setting up an indigo vat and learn how to manage the vat
* Learn many simple techniques for creating patterns
* Dye many samples of different techniques (cloth provided)
* Create a patterned silk scarf to take home (plain white hemmed silk scarf provided)
