Town energy... can Quaama or Tilba be self reliant on power?

From: Zena Armstrong

The Cobargo Community Bushfire Recovery Fund is hosting a presentation on
town energy transition. Totally Renewable Yackandandah (north east
Victoria) will present their efforts to transition to a resilient 100%
renewable energy supply, by 2022. Community energy specialists, Mondo,
will also share a little of their work on microgrids.

*"How can all the electricity a town uses be generated locally? Totally
Renewable Yackandandah partners with the local community and relevant
organisations to inspire and facilitate projects that transition to clean,
local sources of energy. This involves reducing consumption and
strategically enabling renewable energy generation, storage and sharing.*

*We have a 5-stage road-map that guides us through the steps required,
including solar and storage installations at residential and community
properties, a mini grid to connect it all and a community energy retailer
to facilitate the trading and sharing of energy.*

*A small group of residents were recently connected to the third microgrid
in our town." **https://totallyrenewableyack.org.au/*
