Hello,
*Tool Library Opening Hours*
This is to let you know the Triangle Tool Library is closed until the
lockdown is lifted.
*A reminder the Cobargo Co-op is open as an essential service during
lockdown.*
*The Tool Library will re-open the next day of normal Tool Library trading*
*after* the lockdown release. ie if lockdown stops anytime on a Friday,
we'll open on the Saturday etc.
*Our opening hours are:*
Tuesday 9-3
Friday 9-12
Saturday 9-12
*Other news*
*1. Pallets and Cardboard*
We have pre-orders for pallets ($1 each) and we're waiting for them to
arrive after lockdown. We still have a 500kg (ute or trailer) bales of
clean cardboard ($20) for mulching. The pre-soak technique for the
cardboard is working well. Cardboard combined with the local spoiled feed
bales for a top mulch layer is a really good combination and a great way to
hold moisture in the soil. We advise water, feed, compost prior, add extra
for the mulch breakdown.
*2. BCRRF Grant Rollout*
We're in the purchasing phase for the *building tools trailer kits*
and the *horticulture
and gardening trailer kits* which are phase one of the Climate Resilience
grant 2021 and 2022.
Especially interesting right now is the walk-behind tractor, with
attachments, for creating garden beds and also key tools like scaffolding
and concrete cutters for the building trailer kits.
Monica Considine has consulted widely and spoken with experts for the right
tools and *we think we're getting good quality gear for the local people
who need it*.
More news to come.
*3. Tool Day Projects for Members *
*Volunteer members* can get involved. It's great having a members Tool
Library to share in the community. You'll be covered by insurance, given
process and standards induction and tea or coffee. If you have projects, we
have ideas, we're inventive, there's awesome tools and we love fixing
things. You can also help with the Library running projects if you feel
like solo projects. You can come ad hoc, monthly or every week.
*Friday morning* is for small engine whispering, cutting stuff up, bolting
stuff together, warm coffee, impossible tales, borrowing and using
tools. *Saturday
morning* is for talking, tool discovery and fast take-away gear.
*Tuesday is project day* at the Tool Library. If you're a member you can
bring your materials and work on things with the tools on hand eg the
welder and get advice and support. Gold coins cover fuel and material costs.
*Tuesday is also a good training day* eg chainsaw sharpening and
maintenance. Members can book and get one-on-one volunteered training on
keeping your machines nicely serviced. You pay for parts. Gold coins and
notes cover working costs. *Text 0428244811 for training.*
Go well and good luck!
