Good afternoon community.

This email contains an update on Quaama's Wednesday Drop-in community day, details about the latest Quaama Renewal Projects that are open for bookings, info about some other Quaama activities and a request for help with some Quaama SoA Hall projects that are planned.

Quaama Drop-in
This is now being operated by the Friends of Quaama Hall. This change has been made for a number of reasons: to keep the costs manageable; to continue the move away from being seen as a bushfire renewal activity toward a whole of community event and; to enable this valuable community space to continue for as long as there are people willing to attend.

As long as services continue to be available we will have them visiting our village on a Wednesday, so this won't change. In the same way, the Drop-In will remain a place where community members can get information that they need and schedule meetings with those they need to talk to.

The other important elements of the Drop-In will also stay - free cuppas and tasty treats, meeting new people, our weekly delivery of OzHarvest rescue, sharing of garden bounty, craft activities and shared lunchtime cook-ups. If you have ideas for other activities to share on this day, please let us know. So much is possible! It would be great to have some jamming every now and again...

With the move over to Friends of Quaama Hall, there will be more focus on the hall and the garden, so the Drop-In will also be a key day where volunteers can be involved in current hall projects, especially the restoration of the garden, finishing the supper room renovations, painting the kitchen and more including general maintenance and cleaning. Our lovely old building has given us so much since the fire so it is well past time to give her back some care and - with the projects underway and planned - there's ample opportunity for you all to get involved.

Donations
The only items that will be accepted at the Drop-In are books, CDs and DVDs. These can be added to the collection on the hall veranda and when something significant is donated this information will be shared with the community . If you have anything else to offer to community members still in need post-fire or for any other reasons, please use our very effective community emailing lists, put a sign up at Quaama Store and on the Drop-In noticeboard, share the information on Quaama Community Noticeboard on Facebook etc. We no longer keep lists of items being sought and the coordination of donations is no longer being managed by Quaama Renewal Projects.
